About Us:
Henrico County DPU is not your average workplace. Way Better Than Just Engineering, we are at the forefront of water and wastewater services, responsible for maintaining over 1,640 miles of water distribution piping, 1,522 miles of wastewater collection piping, water and sewage pumping stations, as well as advanced Water Treatment and Water Reclamation Facilities. As part of our Construction Division, you'll be at the heart of driving progress in construction administration, contract management, and inspection for a wide array of projects that impact public and private development.

Essential Duties:
As an Engineer I/II in our Construction Division, you'll be at the helm of managing heavy civil capital improvement construction projects, overseeing private development construction projects, annual service, maintenance, and emergency response contracts, all while supervising a team of dedicated construction inspectors. From Blueprint to Reality, you will play a crucial role in turning conceptual plans into tangible and successful construction projects, driving progress, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
Positions from this posting may be filled as an Engineer I or II depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant and the needs of the organization at the time of hire.
Engineer I: Possession of a four (4) year degree in a relevant recognized field of engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program required and previous relevant professional experience in engineering preferred; OR; any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Engineer II: Possession of a four (4) year degree in a relevant recognized field of engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program and two (2) years of related professional experience in engineering required; OR; any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Salary Range:
Engineer I: $72,875.52 - $134,057.95
Engineer II: $80,039.88 - $147,237.12
