About the NAWI Research Program
The National Alliance for Water Innovation (NAWI) is a five-year, $110 million research program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy through its Industrial Technologies Office and Water Power Technologies Office. Led by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in collaboration with several national laboratories, including the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, NAWI aims to reduce the cost and energy intensity of desalination and water reuse to help secure a resilient water supply for the U.S. economy (nawihub.org).
About the VA AWWA Drinking Water Quality and Research Committee
The Drinking Water Quality and Research Committee is the Section's technical committee dedicated to drinking water quality and treatment issues. Committee activities include an annual seminar, typically held every year in the spring, in which distinguished researchers from around the state and around the nation are invited to speak on topics of current interest to Virginia's drinking water community.
