Please join us for a tour of the HRSD Nansemond Treatment Plant. The Plant began operation in 1983 and treats 30 million gallons per day, featuring a seasonal biological nutrient removal process and has received national awards for outstanding compliance with its environmental permits. This 2-hour tour will showcase current treatment processes and future development of the wastewater treatment process.
The tour requires some walking upstairs and there will be some odors present.
Attendees must sign a waiver prior to participating in the tour.
Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required.
$10 registration fee includes lunch after the tour.
