The course is designed for Water Plant Operators of systems that currently fluoridate or that will fluoridate in the future. The instructors of the course possess extensive knowledge of the principles of water fluoridation. The course will be conducted by a panel of experts from related fields including: dentistry, water plant operations, and engineering.
 
The VDH Drinking Water Fluoridation training is designed to educate plant operators in all aspects of proper community water fluoridation.  The two day course includes hands-on laboratory activities, calibration exercises, fluoridation costs analysis, and safety demonstrations.  The national guidelines, research and implementation of the community water fluoridation practices will be reviewed.

  • Public Heath Aspects of Fluoridation
  • Fluoridation, Compounds, Characteristics and Regulations
  • Fluoridation Equipment
  • Fluoride Calculations
  • Fluoridation Safety
  • Calibration
  • Hands on exercises and activities
Registration cost: $50 per person
