Chesterfield County is seeking an Automation Coordinator to lead the Department of Utilities' automation staff, direct work and assign projects; in conjunction with IST staff, maintain the Local Area Network (LAN), server maintenance and backups, application development and PC applications, purchase and deploy hardware and software. Provide oversight and management of the department's systems and technology projects. Perform other work as required. Position open until October 3, 2021

Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field; five years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of concepts of microcomputer technology and related software; of principles of office automation systems. Ability to analyze complex business problems for potential automation solutions; to manage complex automation projects; to document processes and procedures and develop user documentation; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise technical and non-technical staff. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
