The City of Roanoke – Department of Public Works is looking to hire two (2) Civil Engineer I’s. The Engineering Division’s Civil Engineer I and the Stormwater Utility’s Stormwater Engineer/Civil Engineer position are each looking for general Site/Civil Engineers. Applicants should be knowledgeable in the preparation of civil engineering designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, land surveying methods, right-of-way acquisition, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, construction administration, construction scheduling, construction inspection, and citizen outreach on a variety of Capital Improvement Projects.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia Registration board for Architects and Engineers with a major in civil engineering or related field; one-year professional experience and/or training in engineering work and project management preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Recognition as an Engineer-in-training in the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred.
Salary: $50,057.28 - $80,092.22 DOQ
