As Data Governance Administrator (Information Technology), you will work in our Waterworks Department. You will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic planning, overall administration and technical expertise in the design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and operation of all departmental information systems. 
 
This includes hardware, software applications, local and wide area networks, systems integration, e-commerce, data circuits and telecommunications systems, geographic information, and related systems. This position coordinates, develops, and recommends long-range strategic plans pertaining to the department’s information systems.
 
The Data Governance Administrator will oversee and coordinate projects, cybersecurity functions, technical and operational activities, and other programs for existing or proposed systems with the goal of improving operational efficiency, streamlining work processes, and otherwise providing seamless customer service. You will also consult with and advise the Director and Assistant Director in matters pertaining to information technology.
 
You will be responsible for the effective supervision and administration of the Data Governance Division including budgeting, purchasing and financial transactions, staff organization and development, performance evaluations, employee relations, prioritizing and assigning work and related activities. This also includes evaluating the need to fill vacant positions and recommends changes to allocated positions and divisional structure, as needed. 
 
You will ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of large scale, multifaceted business systems as well as ensures the quality, functionality, connectivity, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness of implemented systems. You will also establish the maintenance and improvement programs to ensure the integrity of information technology systems.
 
How much money can I make?
The salary range for this position is $76-$131k. Salary ranges are competitive based on qualifications and experience. In addition to salary, the City offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to meet all of our employee’s needs!
 
What are the qualifications for this position?
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, or a closely related field and 5 - 7 years of responsible experience in information technology including 3-4 years supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
 
Professional certification in Information Technology, and experience in water utility preferred; experience with SAP S4/HANA implementation and cloud capability upgrades, strongly preferred. 
 
Acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
