Message to Community Waterworks Owners:
There is a heightened threat environment across the United States. See attached bulletin for details. Please take additional measures to harden assets and enhance cybersecurity. Take proactive measures to protect human resources and critical infrastructure. Please ensure databases and critical operational systems are protected. Ensure patching is up-to-date and monitor logs for suspicious activity. Report all suspicious activity to the Virginia State Police (VSP) Fusion Center, a collaborative effort of state and federal agencies to identify and respond to acts of terror, criminal activity, and other crimes and criminal hazards - VSP Fusion Center, VFC@vfc.vsp.virginia.gov, telephone (804) 674-2196.
Remember - If You See Something, Say Something: https://www.dhs.gov/see-something-say-something - report suspicious activity and threats of violence, including online threats as appropriate to local law enforcement, FBI Field Office, and the VSP Fusion Center. The VSP Fusion Center will take appropriate action and investigate reports of concern with appropriate state and federal partners.
Maintain vigilance to protect critical infrastructure. Please ensure your workforce is aware of the potential threats and that they know to report any and all suspicious activity to the VSP Fusion Center.
