Chesterfield County’s Utilities Department is seeking an Electronics Control Specialist to troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install electrical control systems used for the maintenance of wastewater collection and water distribution systems. Maintain electrical equipment repair records using Infor IMS. Maintain and update Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures. Modify and maintain PLC programs and equipment. Overtime required as needed. Perform other work as required

Successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED; with two years of experience in wastewater/water distribution system operation and maintenance and as a journeyman electrician working with electronic control systems to include ladder logic and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC); five years of experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid Journeyman Electrician license. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview. Record must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within 30 days of interview date.
