Responsibilities: The Engineering Department is a multi-disciplined group that works on a diversity of projects/programs with responsibilities that include standards and policy development, planning and design for capital projects, oversight of new construction projects, land acquisition, asset evaluation and rehabilitation, system capacity evaluation, data management, management of Geographical Information Systems, and the Cross Connection Control Program. The Engineering Manager will provide assistance to the Engineering Department in the areas of system management and operation, design and construction of new facilities, facilities upgrades, facility expansions, and related programs that require skill, experience, creativity, knowledge, judgment, and timely completion in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt

Anticipated hiring range: $89,980.80 - $112,476.00 (Typical)

Salary Scale:  $89,980.80 – $165,110.40 DOQ

Qualifications/Experience: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or related field. Must be a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has the ability to acquire a Virginia license through reciprocity within 6 months. Must have knowledge of regulations issued by, but not limited to, Department of Environmental Quality, Virginia Department of Health, and Virginia 811. Prior Personnel management experience is preferred. 


Required Skills: Must have knowledge of the design, construction, and operation of water and wastewater, systems. Must have the ability to communicate, both verbally and written, and read in English to understand
directions, procedures, and communicate to others. Must be able to utilize office and engineering software. Must exhibit a positive attitude to effectively deal with the public, agency officials, and co-workers.
