The incumbent will provide construction contract administration assistance and performs highly technical work in the coordination and support of construction projects. Duties include but are not limited to: Reviewing plans and developing completion and status reports, punch list documentation, and final approval letters. Review inspectors' reports for accuracy and conformance with contract documents; reconcile quantity differences in the pay applications; and process contractor payment requests through Finance. Perform all SAP entries for payments and requisitions, In-service Notices, milestones, as-built, and fire hydrant data. Develop construction cost estimates and reviews proposals for accuracy. Review approved plans, easements, and cut sheets prior to construction and ensure completion of accurate as-built information. Organize and schedule the inspection efforts of Subdivision work with contractors, developers, inspectors, and engineers prior to, during, and after construction has been completed. Organize and schedule water sample tests with Fairfax Water Laboratories and relay results to contractors and inspectors. Prepare necessary documentation and final approval letters for County Agencies during the completion stages of Subdivision work. Check and transmit daily construction reports from inspectors, completion reports, as-builts, and hydrant cards to other departments. Enter Subdivision information into the Consolidated Appropriation and Project System (CAPS) and maintain records. Maintain information and data files, electronic and paper, for current Fairfax Water projects. Purge completed project files for archive. Input, distribute, and maintain shutdown data. Respond to customer and contractor questions concerning water main construction and Subdivision plans. Collect data and prepare Construction monthly report of pipes, valves, and hydrants. Prepare necessary information for audit reports. 
 
Salary Range: $59,883-$98,113

REQUIREMENTS 
Graduation from high school supplemented by course work in business or construction and a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible related experience in the contract administration or construction engineering support field, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge. Thorough working knowledge of the Water Main Installation and Service Contract. Considerable knowledge of construction, maintenance, and inspection methods as applied to water main construction. Ability to utilize, input data, and generate reports from Fairfax water SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and contract specifications. Ability to prepare quantity and cost estimates. Ability to review and interpret cut sheets, easements, and as-builts. Must have the ability to use computer systems and programs. Possession of a valid driver's license and good driving record. Must pass a controlled substance (drug) test for employment. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
