Greenway Engineering's Environmental Laboratory is expanding! We are seeking an extremely bright and energetic, highly motivated technically adept individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
 

B.S. or A.S. in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related scientific field of study is required (extensive experience will be considered in lieu of a related degree if applicable). Three to five years of analytical laboratory experience is required (commercial environmental laboratory and/or water/wastewater analysis experience preferred). Must be able to withstand working most of the day with little sitting, be able to work quickly and efficiently and complete a challenging number of sample analyses per day and be able to prioritize own work daily. MUST have an excellent memory, strong attention to detail, and advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Must be able to learn and train at a fast pace and be able to follow written procedures and methodologies with minimal supervision. This is an extremely challenging technical and analytical career.

Typical job responsibilities vary day-to-day and will include calibration and verification of laboratory instruments, analysis of non-potable water (mostly wastewater) and drinking water samples (employing various EPA and Standard Methods procedures), data entry and report creation, invoice generation, equipment maintenance and glassware cleaning, chemical preparation, subcontracting of samples, QA/QC tasks, and documentation, and assisting in maintaining compliance with the laboratory's NELAC accreditation. Well-qualified and quickly-trained individuals will have the opportunity to train to be the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) of the laboratory.

Prior working experience with pH and DO electrodes/meters, ISE electrodes/meters, analytical balances, filtration equipment, and laboratory glassware is required. Must have prior experience with titrimetric, spectrophotometric and electrometric measurements and knowledge/experience of performing calibrations and dilutions.
