Augusta County Service Authority is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Technician (Level 4, 3, 2 or 1.) Applicant’s work experience and qualifications will determine the level.
The Maintenance Technician may assist or perform difficult mechanical electrical repairs, installation, and replacement of equipment and systems. Assist with or perform difficult repairs and troubleshoot procedures. Inspect, coordinate clean-up response, and report all facility-related sanitary sewer overflows. Assist Engineering with facility deficiency evaluations, capital or maintenance problems, and GPS and GIS data collection. Perform basic welding, electrical tasks, and carpentry. Perform basic and advanced plumbing. Operate heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, backhoes, etc. Perform snow removal duties on an alternate schedule as needed. Perform on-call responsibilities. Maintain records and inventory of spare parts. Complete purchase and work orders and submit tickets promptly. Perform assigned tasks and related work as required. Must demonstrate proficiency in at least four of the following: basic welding, basic carpentry, troubleshooting minor electrical problems, advanced pump overhaul and repair, basic plumbing, line maintenance location, inspection and repair and reading blueprints. Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems. Ability to operate computers for data entry, accounting purposes, and utilize Microsoft Word.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class A CDL Virginia Driver’s License with combination vehicle and airbrake endorsement within twelve months of employment. A minimum of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) for Maintenance Technician 4.
