ACSA is in search of a full-time Plant Supervisor. The Plant Supervisor shall perform the following duties: supervise Plant Operators; coordinate biosolids handling; complete monthly sludge report; ensure compliance of safety rules; provide and update Standard Operations Procedures and Conditions for each treatment plant; establish controls to ensure all plant and lift stations are operating properly; ensure adequate minor repair on mechanical, electrical, and control equipment; ensure operations staff is trained on SCADA operations and equipment changes; assure subordinate(s) perform Water/Wastewater plant chemical and physical tests correctly; support and train operations staff to comply with standard operating procedures and conditions; coordinate training of new personnel; conduct plant tours; ensure accurate and timely records and reports are produced and filed; and train Senior Operators to interface with Department of Environmental Quality inspectors.

Work conditions include but are not limited to outside work in all weather conditions, possible contact with liquid water, wastewater and vapors, confined space, electricity, hazardous materials, and bloodborne pathogens. Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, noise, uneven terrain and heights is expected. Must be able to lift and carry over 100 pounds with assistance or up to 50 pounds without assistance. Will be required to work irregular schedules on an as-needed basis, which includes overtime, night duty, weekends and holidays and emergency assignments.
 
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of college credit. Class I license in wastewater and at least three (3) years of experience as a Class I wastewater operator is required. Ability to communicate, verbally and written, understanding of basic mathematics, and mechanical and electrical knowledge is required. Applicant must possess a valid Virginia Driver License Class B with Endorsements H (hazardous material) and N (tanker vehicle).
