Frederick Water is looking for a Project Engineer.
 
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. (MS or MBA desired)  At least five years’ experience
in construction management and/or design of water and sewer facilities.
 
Project experience including planning and feasibility, design, and construction of water and wastewater supply, treatment, pumping and distribution/collection facilities; including upgrades and expansions.
 
LICENSES(S) AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
 
Professional Engineer licensed preferred
 
TYPICAL TASKS
 
Assist in the creation and further development of a digital water and sewer model for Frederick Water’s
conveyance systems.  Assist in reviewing site plans and other design documents for compliance with Frederick Water specifications and standards as well as general principals of sound engineering. 
Work with water and wastewater treatment plant staff to resolve operational challenges as needed.  Perform field tests on Frederick Water system components to include fire hydrant testing and verifying flow rates and pressures at sanitary pump stations.  Provide construction management on Frederick Water projects such as the construction of elevated storage tanks, water lines and gravity sewer lines.
Managing and completing projects as the lead Project Engineer to meet technical objectives, schedule and budget, including: Planning, design and construction of distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations and water and wastewater treatment plants as well.
