  • March 26, 2025  |  Annual Drinking Water Quality and Research Seminar
    The Drinking Water Quality and Research Committee proudly presents “Uncharted Waters: Meeting New Challenges Head-On,” a full-day seminar dedicated to exploring the forefront of drinking water quality challenges. This seminar will provide an in-depth look at emerging contaminants, regulatory complexities, and innovative approaches to managing and mitigating water quality issues that extend beyond traditional treatment processes. Attendees will gain valuable insights from industry experts and explore strategies to safeguard public health in the face of evolving water quality concerns and the increase in known drinking water contaminants. Join us as we navigate these uncharted waters together.

     
  • April 22, 2025  |   Distribution Systems Spring Seminar
    Connect with the VA AWWA Distribution Systems Committee for this one-day seminar focused on topics relevant to the maintenance and operation of distribution systems. Both field-level and supervisory staff will benefit from this affordable day of networking and education. We’ll be returning to the Henrico DPU Operations Facility and expect 5 hours of continuing education credits. Seating will be limited.

Virtual Training:  The 2024 VA AWWA Plant Operations Conference Recap!

Did you miss the 2024 Plant Ops conference and still need Water Operator CPEs, look no further! The Plant Operations Committee had such a great conference and they want to share it with you.  We've assembled a collection of conference video presentations and bundled each with the speaker's slide deck and a short quiz.  

 
If you need more CPE credits and couldn't join us at the conference, you may watch these videos and complete the quizzes to receive an attendance credit transcript from VA AWWA.

Calling All Speakers!! Submit your abstracts for VA AWWA trainings

Do you have technical information you want to share with the water industry? We are currently seeking engaging and informative presentations on a variety of topics that will enhance the knowledge and skills of our attendees.

 

Presentation Topics of Interest (sample list, others are welcome!):

  • Innovative Water Treatment Technologies: Share breakthroughs and new water purification and treatment approaches.

  • Water Quality Management: Best practices, case studies, and new methods for ensuring safe and clean water.

  • Sustainable Practices: Strategies for water conservation, reducing environmental impact, and sustainable resource management.

  • Regulatory Updates and Compliance: Insights on the latest regulations and compliance requirements impacting the water industry.

  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Effective planning and response strategies for water-related emergencies and disasters.

  • Data and Digital Solutions: Leveraging data analytics, IoT, and digital technologies to optimize water systems and operations.

  • Community Engagement and Education: Techniques for raising public awareness and educating communities about water issues and solutions.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Proposal Format: Please submit a brief abstract (300 words or less) outlining your presentation topic, key points, and the value it will bring to the audience.

  • Presenter Information: Include a short bio (150 words or less) and contact information for each presenter.

  • Submission Method: All proposals must be submitted online using our Call for Abstracts form.

Selection Process:

Our staff will review all proposals and then forward them to the appropriate committee based on relevance, originality, and the potential impact of the presentation. The organizing committee will notify selected presenters.

We look forward to receiving your proposals and assembling exceptional training events to drive innovation and excellence within the water industry.
