The next five-year re-certification deadlines are quickly approaching, with deadlines beginning in 2025 for larger CWSs and ending in 2026 for smaller CWSs. WICRD recently published updated versions of its Small System RRA Checklist and ERP Template and plans to publish an updated version of the Vulnerability Self-Assessment Tool (VSAT) by the end of November 2024. A Checklist of Priority Cybersecurity Practices for Water Systems was added to these resources to bolster a CWS’s analysis of their cybersecurity practices. EPA encourages all CWSs to complete this new cybersecurity checklist and add it to their RRA or ERP.

AWWA Needs Your Help Reviewing Academic Scholarships!

It’s scholarship review season, and Water Equation would appreciate your support! This year, we’ve received over 2,000 scholarship applications—the most we have ever received—and we’re hoping you will assist with the review process.

As the organization awarding the largest number of water scholarships worldwide, AWWA relies on volunteers like you to help select the next generation of water professionals.

Interested in volunteering? Please reach out to Claire Moffitt at cmoffitt@awwa.org for more details. The review process is designed to be flexible and will only require a few hours of your time in January.

Your involvement will make a meaningful impact, and we truly appreciate any support you can offer.
