Virginia Section AWWA has the greatest members and Supriya Murthy is no exception. Supriya is Vice President, National Discipline Leader (Sustainable Operations) for Arcadis and is also our DEI Committee Chair.
In her role at Arcadis, she helps global brands reduce risk, optimize performance and culture, and use data as an asset for insight and action. She specializes in designing and delivering programs on corporate governance, business intelligence, enterprise risk management, and performance excellence integrated with user-centric digital technology. Her enthusiasm for diversity, equity, and inclusion led her to volunteer for the VA AWWA and VWEA focus groups that eventually developed DE&I committees for both organizations. But VA AWWA was the lucky organization that enticed Supriya to join us and become our Committee Chair.
She hit the ground running and developed five workstream flows for the Committee which includes: Thoughtful Tuesdays, Publications, Industry Engagement, Community Engagement, and Mentorship & Allyship. Although the Committee is brand new, it has already garnered 28 members.
Supriya’s passion is evident in every committee meeting and our organization would like to welcome and show our appreciation for such a vibrant individual!
Do you know someone who has contributed to the water industry and the Virginia Section in a substantial way? What about a company that supports its employees' growth by involvement in the Virginia Section? Why not nominate them for one of the following VA AWWA awards. The deadline to submit nominations is this Wednesday, July 20th. Details about each award are online (https://vaawwa.org/page/awards)
From VA AWWA, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU for all you do each day for the water industry.
