This year at WaterJAM, we’re excited to introduce a brand-new event: the Committee Showcase! Whether you're a seasoned attendee or new to the conference, this is your chance to explore the many committees offered by VWEA and VA AWWA that help shape our organizations and their mission. Stop by the Showcase to meet committee representatives, learn about their focus areas, how often they meet, and the impact they make throughout the year.
From technical initiatives to outreach and education, our committees offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved, share your expertise, and grow professionally. The Showcase is designed to be casual and welcoming—perfect for asking questions, making connections, and (hopefully!) finding the committee that’s right for you. Don’t miss this chance to be part of something bigger and help drive the future of our water community!
The VA AWWA/VWEA Work for Water Committee table at Water JAM2025 will feature resources to facilitate utility recruitment of veterans and students. Notebooks of the resources will be available for review and a summary of the resources will be provided to all booth visitors. All resources are available online at the Work for Water page on the VA AWWA website.

There is life outside of WaterJAM. Take a look at the excellent training we have lined up for this Fall!
Small Systems Training: Risk, Resilience, Rates, Reporting and More! - Your utility faces day-to-day challenges providing reliable, safe drinking water for your customers while avoiding costly violations. This FREE one-day workshop is offered to help your utility learn about compliance with drinking water regulations and steps to avoid those costly violations.
Cross Connection Devicies: Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing - 16 hours- This three (3) day training course is offered in support of the Safe Drinking Water Act and Virginia Waterworks Regulations. It is designed to prepare participants to test, inspect, and provide in-line maintenance of reduced pressure zone and other backflow prevention devices. Training includes both classroom and hands-on instruction with actual devices.
35th Annual Water Distribution Seminar and Utility Rodeo - This traditional "hands-on" seminar is designed to provide distribution system personnel with practical information on relevant subjects. The ever-popular Utility Rodeo provides various utility-related competitive events in which participants compete against fellow utility personnel in demos of skill, speed, and safety.
Fall Plant Operations Seminar - This year we're taking our annual event to Blue Ridge Community College! We're very excited to expand our capacity for more attendees, a few vendors, and the room for some hands-on activities! This event includes lunch and a local facility tour with Augusta Water. Save your seat today!
YP Summit - Please join the Young Professionals Committee for Virginia’s first YP Summit! At this event, YPs from around the state will gather to hear from experienced leaders in the water industry, as well as from fellow young professionals.
