Planning an event in the midst of a global pandemic requires flexibility and adaptation. First and foremost, the health and safety of our membership, families, and the greater community remains our greatest priority. These unprecedented times demand change and innovation, and we are committed to delivering a quality conference in 2021.
Our theme, Passport to Water, highlights the variety of approaches that utilities, professionals, suppliers, researchers, and regulators use to reach our common goal of safe and reliable water systems. An in-person WaterJAM allows us to share these approaches, collaborate, and learn from each other in a way that is hard to replicate in any other format.
The WaterJAM 2021 Committee is working tirelessly to ensure we host the premier State Conference for water, wastewater, and stormwater professionals. WaterJAM 2021 will be different; however, you should expect that it will provide attendees with numerous technical growth opportunities (including continuing education credits) and a variety of networking opportunities including new offerings such as a Charter Fishing Trip and a Women Impacting Water Breakfast. You can expect outstanding presentations and workshops, as well as fun social events that will provide many opportunities for networking with friends and colleagues.
Your WaterJAM committee is working with the venues to receive event-specific guidance from the Virginia Department of Health. As new guidelines continue to be announced, we will adapt to ensure we maximize learning and colleague engagement opportunities in a responsible manner. Please be prepared for updates and changes to our program.
We are extremely excited about this year’s conference. See you in September.
