When asked "Why do you think this type of program is important for our industry in the state of Virginia?" Michele Siminari, Senior Plant Engineer at Fairfax Water replied:
"First, I know I don’t work for the only organization in our industry that is seeing a growing number of retirements, and a growing need for important leadership roles to be filled. Second, I think that in the social media age, working with different people face to face is getting harder. A big part of managing people is understanding how different people are motivated and how to work with people who are different than you. One of our goals in this Academy is to help people navigate all the parts of being a leader, being a good coworker, and being part of a team."
