SMALL SYSTEM GRANTS

This grant is awarded to water plant operators wanting to attend any VA AWWA training and will cover registration costs only. The purpose of the grant is to improve and expose operators to VA AWWA training opportunities for Small Systems in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Grant money can only be approved for one event, once a year, per individual. Operators must have a valid Commonwealth of Virginia, State Board of Certification Water Work License. Each applicant will need to supply ALL information on the application form.

TOP OPS COMPETITION

At the annual Operations Conference, a competition is conducted to find the Top Operators in Virginia to represent the Virginia Section at the AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE).  The competition consists of a jeopardy-style format with teams answering questions related to water treatment.  Teams consisting of 1 – 3 licensed operators competing for a chance to represent the Virginia Section at the National competition.  Financial assistance is offered by the section for the team to compete at ACE the following year.   Download the Top Ops FAQs flyer here!
