The VA AWWA Distribution Systems Committee announces the 36th Annual Water Distribution Seminar and Utility Rodeo to be held on October 5-7 in Newport News, VA. This traditional "hands-on" seminar is designed to provide distribution system personnel with practical information on relevant subjects. The ever-popular Utility Rodeo provides various utility-related competitive events in which participants compete against fellow utility personnel in demonstrations of skill, speed, and safety.
Whether you are a veteran employee or new to the utility, come refresh your skills and well-being as we practice operating from a place of respect and expertise in our challenging role as guardians of public health. With a focus on communication and service, participants will also learn the basics of water treatment and utility operations and deepen their understanding of what it takes to deliver quality water every day.
This program utilizes direct instruction, group discussions, "real life" sharing, and hands-on exercises to foster professional development, embed learning, and build a community of water sector practitioners.
