Judges needed for the 4th Annual Southwest Water Tower Showdown

The Roanoke/Lynchburg/Bedford/Salem Water Tower Showdown is looking for volunteers to serve as judges at the Southwest Virginia Water Tower Showdown on July 17 from 9am-noon at the Smith Mountain Lake Water Treatment Facility.  In this competition, teams of middle schoolers build functional small-scale water towers to be evaluated at the competition for prizes.

We’re looking for judges for the competition to score the towers on various engineering and aesthetic criteria to determine a winner.  Judges don’t need any prior experience and we will train everyone on the morning of the competition.

Come out for a fun morning to see what the kids have made and to be the face of water infrastructure in the community.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mark Titcomb (mtitcomb@nnva.gov)
